There are 66 books in the Bible.  39 books are in the Old Testament and 27 are in the New Testament.  The word testament means covenant.  The old covenant was the law, which is based on the 10 commandments.  The new covenant is Jesus.  The law is written in our hearts today instead of tablets of stone.  Moses wrote the first 5 books.

Law is the first division of the Bible.  It includes these books of the Bible:  Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.

History is the second division of the Bible and includes Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther.

Poetry is the next division and consists of Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon.

Prophecy is next and includes Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Malachi.  Isaiah through Daniel are considere the major prophets due to their length.  The remaining are called the minor prophets for the same reason.

The New Testament begins with the Gospels.  They are Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Matthew Mark and Luke are called the synoptic gospels because of their similarities.

The book of Acts records the History of the early church.

Next are the Epistles, which include Romans, 1st Corinthians, 2nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st Thessalonains, 2nd Thessalonians, 1st Timothy, 2nd Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews, James, 1st Peter, 2nd Peter, 1st John, 2nd John, 3rd John and Jude.

New Testament Prophecy is only one book - Revelation, which is also the last book of the Bible.
